Remember when you used to listen to an entire album? Classic Albums Live does.
Classic Albums Live takes classic albums from the 60s and 70s and recreates those albums live on stage – note for note, cut for cut. Using the world’s best musicians, fans are treated to an exact replication of the album followed by a second set of the featured artist’s greatest hits.
It’s tough to perform the music of an icon. Their entire career is at your fingertips. Jimi Hendrix represents the 60s style. Equal rights. Poetry. Freedom. Genus. Classic Albums Live will just concentrate on his music. Jimi Hendrix means everything to Clifton David Broadbridge. The sound and the fury, the craziness and the grace is all wonderfully channeled through Clifton’s able fingers. Note for note-cut for cut. The evening promises to thrill and chill. You’ll get to hear the reason why Hendrix is regarded as the greatest guitar player that ever lived. No pale imitations. No cheesy costumes. Just incredible musicianship from a select group of the world’s best musicians.
Classic Albums Live brings together some of the country’s finest musicians to re-create live on stage the exact sounds of the greatest albums of the 60s and 70s. Musicians are chosen according to their sound and their fit into a particular niche, be it Pink Floyd, The Beatles, or The Stones. The album might require a sitar player, a children’s choir, a string quartet or someone to ring the alarm clock. Whatever it takes, the musicians treat these revered albums like a score -the way a symphony orchestra treats Mozart.
Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live has become the ultimate destination for music lovers wanting to hear the greatest albums performed live without all the gimmickry and cheesy impersonations. Relying only on the music, using what Martin refers to as ‘the world’s best musicians’, Classic Albums Live has defined itself as a mainstay in Performing Arts Centres across North America.
